Canadian singer songwriter Stephen Spender sings with a raspy honest and melodic voice honed through years of performance and busking in Canada. His last three albums are reminiscent of David Gray, Paul Simon, and Ray LaMontagne.
His catchy songs are soulful but can also be playful as in Moon, “Don’t get me wrong I love this earth, I’ve been here since my birth.”
Stephen started out as a successful actor after graduating from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, but his passion for singing and songwriting coupled with his friends saying “ Hey you should do something with that!” turned into his full time career.
His heartfelt songs have been used in several festival shorts and features. His most recent credit is the acclaimed documentary “Chasing Evil” (Robbie Knievel story) where his song “Baby Blue” was featured.
Stephen is currently living and recording his fourth album in London, England.
