“For me, Black Deer represents the ultimate spirit of Americana and everything we love about it. It is the perfect place for byNWR’s own obsession with all things American.”
Nicolas Winding Refn
We were delighted to reveal that we had joined forces with byNWR.com to bring the unique cinematic experience byNWR Expressway to Eridge Park this summer – now we’re excited to tell you that we have two pairs of tickets to giveaway to the sold-out launch of this collaboration.
Taking place at The Royal Academy in London, on Thursday May 23rd from 7pm, this exclusive ‘EXPRESSWAY’ event – curated by byNWR and The Academicians Room in collaboration with Black Deer – will be an evening of film, music and food.
Music will come from Noble Jacks, Amy Montgomery and Jarrod Dickenson and we’re also delighted to welcome The Bluegrass Situation to The RA to tell the story of one of the earliest forms of country music. The Bluegrass Situation’s Emma John (musician, author, journalist) will host the best bluegrass musicians in the country inside The RA’s The Academicians Room and you will enjoy sets from Hayseed Dixie (John and Joe from the band will perform as a duo) and ground-breaking all female band Midnight Skyracer. DJs Whiskey Preachin’ and Hank JD Sleek will be on-hand building the flow of tunes from old-timey Carter Family/Charlie Poole style through western swing and 40s/50s honky tonk as well as the Texas two-step moving until 11pm.
Nicolas Winding Refn will be in the house to introduce you to the world of byNWR and Black Deer co-founders Gill Tee and Deborah Shilling will introduce the festival’s journey into the heart of Americana.
