Telling stories is what Black Deer Festival does best.
 
The Songwriter Sessions, our unique way of bringing the stories behind the songs to life in the deer park, offers ticket-holders a never-to-be-repeated opportunity to bear witness to your favourite artists whispering their secrets into your ears.
 
Opening The Ridge on each day of the festival, the Nashville-style ‘in the round’ sessions are one of the highlights of the weekend, with previous performers including Billy Bragg, Larkin Poe and Ward Thomas.
 
“You might never see the same artists on the same stage together again,” reveals festival co-founder Deb Shilling. “We have carefully curated a group of artists to give our community the opportunity to hear songs that mean so much to them and to hear the stories behind the music.”
 
The much-loved sessions are back for 2022 and we’re proud to reveal the line-up here, including such names as Imelda May, Cam and William Prince. Don’t you dare miss it!
